First, I'd like to introduce myself. My name is Rachel Varrecchio, and I am a Professional Wedding Officiant registered in several Parishes in the State of Louisiana to legally solemnize weddings. A specific list of these Parishes will be included below. I've worked in the customer service, healthcare, special events (mainly weddings), banquet, catering, and hospitality industries all of my working life, and I've had some pretty interesting jobs before I made it to where I am now with the best job in the world - being the one with the honor to join two people in love for the rest of their lives. It truly is a profession that I take very seriously, and I truly can appreciate how much of an honor it is to be chosen as a couple's Wedding Officiant, preparing and conducting their ceremony and legally binding them forever in mutual love and respect.

I am a true "Southern Girl," having been born and raised here in Southern Louisiana all of my life. I lost everything I owned in Hurricane Katrina when I was younger and had to leave all of my friends and my beloved hometown of New Orleans. We moved to the Baton Rouge area, and I've been here since. I truly love being from Louisiana and embodying our beloved "Southern Hospitality" whenever I can. I am a proud Louisianian, where the culture is unmatched, the food is almost criminally decadent, everyone treats everyone like family, and the endearing kindness and resilience of the people truly shines brighter than any difficulties we may face as a state. We are a force to be reckoned with, and I wouldn't ever want to live anywhere else.

My apologies - let me get back on topic. I caught the "wedding bug" about 13 years ago when I landed a weekend job at a catering venue. I was a Banquet Server and I remember being absolutely enamored and full of joy after my first shift. I found the work so incredibly rewarding; I couldn't get enough. Throughout the end of high school and throughout my college years I found myself employed, once again, as a Banquet Server, working mostly weddings, but also corporate events. I found the seamless coordination between all of the vendors, the kitchen team, the banquet and catering staff, the Wedding Coordinators, and the venue management, all working together to deliver an exceptional experience for our clients and their guests, to be fascinating, exhilarating, and something I truly enjoyed doing. It wasn't "work" to me. That's when I knew I found my passion and my true calling.

My journey to becoming an Ordained Minister and Wedding Officiant was probably a bit typical, but a wonderful experience nonetheless. After being laid off from my position as a Flight Attendant at the beginning of the COVID-19 Pandemic, I found myself with a desk job, working at home for the government. The work was meaningful, and it paid the bills, but I was not fulfilled. I missed flying dearly, and I missed my passengers even more. I yearned to be back in the air, using my customer service, public speaking, leadership, and organizational skills again in that very customer-facing role that I loved so much. However, it just was not in the cards for me, hence the work-from-home job. After staying in that position for a few years, the project I was assigned to ended, and I began to feel that all-too-familiar "itch" to return to working in the wedding industry. I had been toying around with the idea of becoming a Wedding Officiant, but I had no idea how to enter that sort of niche industry, nor what the requirements were to become one. That changed in 2021 when a dear family member of mine was due to be married and asked me if I would officiate her wedding ceremony for her. I, of course, jumped at the chance and got to work determining what I had to do to become a legally registered Wedding Officiant in the great State of Louisiana. It wasn't a difficult process at all, and before I knew it, I found myself officiating my very first wedding. Everything went great; I felt confident and comfortable, and I enjoyed performing my duties as their Wedding Officiant. Thanks again, Tonya and Lloyd, for allowing me the honor of being your Officiant. I will always remember that very special day!

Soon after, another Cousin mentioned that she was engaged, and still riding the high from my first ceremony as Officiant, I offered to do the same for her. She excitedly agreed, and I once again had a wonderful experience officiating their wedding. I found that with my newly acquired time management, prioritization, customer service, interpersonal communication, leadership, planning, and public speaking skills gained from my jobs in Walt Disney World and at a very popular airline, along with the exceptional writing skills that I have had since I was a young student, that this profession came naturally to me. I enjoyed everything about being a Wedding Officiant, from collaborating with the couple to craft their perfect, personalized, heartfelt vows and ceremony scripts, to conducting the ceremony itself and using my public speaking background, to the post-ceremony duties of completing, signing, and mailing the Marriage Licenses back to the Clerk's Offices. It was at this point that I knew I wanted to continue to pursue this profession, and that I realized that I had truly found my passion.

Fast forward to 2024, and I decided to start my own Wedding Officiant business! I established Regal Unions by Rachel, LLC, and suddenly found myself not only being a successful, highly-reviewed, experienced Wedding Officiant, but also the proud owner of a small business where I have the privilege of doing what I love - binding two souls in love into one. I am truly blessed to be in the position to do so. I hope to use my knowledge, skills, experience, and "above and beyond" mentality when it comes to customer satisfaction to provide you with professionalism, punctuality, and personalized, client-focused service you deserve on your Special Day. I aim to be that reassuring presence that allows you to both fully take in and enjoy your marriage ceremony and remember it for the rest of your lives.

I am not just another Officiant ready to take your payment and provide the bare minimum. This work is personal to me; again, I recognize it as an honor when a couple asks me to officiate their marriage, and I take the job very seriously. When I am commissioned for my services, I spend a great deal of time (several hours) planning, writing, revising, communicating, anticipating, traveling, organizing, assisting, consulting, and coordinating with my clients to ensure that they receive 110% of what they wanted, and that their expectations were not just met, but positively exceeded. Every. Single. Time.

With me as your Officiant, stress and worries do not exist. I take care of everything for you by:

  • Ensuring clear, constant communication and amongst between all parties;

  • Demonstrating a thorough understanding of exactly what type(s) of ceremony/service(s) you are seeking, and creating personalized, memorable ceremonies that exceed client expectations;

  • Providing extra mementos and services free of charge for all of my couples in order to make their lives easier and provide them with heartfelt gifts to remember their ceremonies by;

  • Lastly, by being there whenever assistance is needed by my clients with an incredibly prompt response time, as well as so much more.
